REVIEW

A selection from the November 2023 My Monthly Cigars Bbox we note a fantastically constructed box press cigar. The wrapper is nothing short of exquisite yet stout and noted is a fine sandpaper feel, minimal veining and a pungent barnyard/raisin pre ignition aroma. A straight cut leads to an unrestricted draw and some welcomed cold notes of dried fruits (raisin, cherry).

A toast/light and into some introductory notes of cocoa, cloves and the faintest graham. The retro is ultra smooth and magnifies the forward notes on the finish. An inch in and although consistent, we do note a mineral value deep in the finish.

Well into the 1/3 and slow burning, a dark honey adds to the pallet as we continue into a very slow burning experience. Into the 2/3 and burning impeccably, a monolithic light gray and flaky ash grows on a thin ash fringe. The notes are consistent and the cocoa (cherry qualities) takes center stage, as the experience begins to move into the medium strength category.

An hour into and we reach the halfway point and note an oily/salty taste alongside an increase in the baker's notes on finish. In the beginning of the 3/3 and noticed a very toasted wood-like quality joining the pallet as the finish became very savory and flavorful. The nub moves us into a medium+ strength and alongside this an explosion of flavor on the finish and mouth. Although consistent, a mild pepper note joins in with some metallic/mineral qualities found on the finish.

A very well crafted cigar that leads to a long burn (1:45hrs) and steady graph curve of both strength and flavors.
