REVIEW

Coming to us from the August 2023 My Monthly Cigars box is a selection from Diesel Cigars. Immediately noticed is this cigars maduro wrapper that is dark, matte and patina. The pre ignition olfactory has strong notes of raisins, cocoa and manure. A cut to a well constructed cap and an unrestricted draw is achieved.

Foot band removed, we toast/light and note a strong introduction. The retro is powerful on the nasal, as notes of toasted graham and a baker's spice of cloves are strongly noted and only magnify on a super flavorful finish. At the inch maker we are already nearing medium strength. Consistent, this cigar is quite rich in flavor as a sweet, dark honey joins the experience.

Getting near the 2/3 we see consistency and a very rich intensity on the pallet. The burn line is slightly crooked (nothing that affects the experience) as a bright and swirling ash grows on a thin ash fringe. Passed the halfway point and a mineral bordering metallic joins in a very intense mouth taste.

The experience is centered on the finish, where sweetness starts to collide with a saline mouth note. Very slow moving, we continue into the concluding 3/3 and into some intensely rich notes. Still quite toasted and consistent, we move into the nub and stay at medium+.

Very well blended for the strong cigar enthusiasts, we see a very long burn time passing the 1 ½ hr marker and a final pepper on the finish.
