My Monthly Cigars Box #11 - April 2020
April showers bring May flowers. Or something like that. But April also brings you Box #11 from My Monthly Cigars!
First and foremost, we hope all of you and your loved ones are staying safe in these crazy times. Dealing with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has not been the easiest for any of us. We just want to urge everyone to be smart. Be safe. Wash your hands. Social distance. Do whatever it takes to help end this mess so we can get back to normal!
OK...we know that this has basically become the new weather (everyone talks about it) so we are done and about to get into the good stuff. The stuff we can actually enjoy, probably even more so during these times!
Let's start with the biggest cigar of the month, and that is the 6x60 (Titan) Nica Libre By Aganorsa. This rounded edge box press is the result of a collaboration between two pillars of the cigar industry that continue to put out stellar cigars. And this cigar is no different. This big dog is a delicious Nicaraguan puro wrapped in a smooth corojo wrapper that lights up the taste buds. This will take you close to 90 minutes to smoke, but its smooth draw and just the right amount of smoke output will make those 90 minutes fly by.
Longevity. Quality. Cigar bliss. That's what this brand says when you hear its name mentioned and that name deserves 100% of the respect it gets. Macanudo has been around since Moses wore short pants (we still don't know what that means but it sounds cool!). The Macanudo Cafe is one of those smokes you can enjoy any time of the day. Each time, you'll be treated to the excellence of this 90 rated gem. It's a mild smoke but its packed with flavor. The blend of Dominican and Mexican fillers covered by a Mexican San Andreas binder and Connecticut wrapper will have you quickly realizing why this cigar gets the praise it does. For the price, this cigar is worth every single penny and then some.
We're not done with 90+ rated cigars just yet! April also brings you the Montecristo White Label which is a 91 rated smoke! Talk about another name that has cache in the industry, some form of a Montecristo cigar is a staple in almost every humidor out there. The White Label is a mild to medium strength cigar that lives up to the Montecristo name. The Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper surrounding some of the finest Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers creates a blend so tasty that you'll be making sure your humidor is stocked with Montecristo (if it already isn't).
Rounding out the April Box is the Graycliff G2 Maduro. If this cigar sounds familiar, it's because we featured its cousin, the G2 Habano in Box #2 back in July of 2019. As soon as you pull this torpedo out of the box, you'll be captured by the beautiful slick and oily dark maduro broadleaf wrapper. The taste will not disappoint either as you'll be treated to some fantastic Nicaraguan filler leaves that will leave you wanting more. Don't let its dark shade fool you, this cigar is a comfortable middle of the road medium strength smoke you'll enjoy.
Next month marks our 12th Box which means we've been sending premium cigars to your doorstep for an entire year! We are beyond excited and look forward to bringing more cigars to your front steps more many years to come!
