Slightly darker than a claro and rather well built, this cigar comes from the My Monthly Cigars November 2022 box. The paper bag colored wrapper is minimally veined, smooth (small raised bumps) and has almost no pre light aroma. A straight cut leads to a slightly labored draw which is caused by the closed cap but still promotes strong cold notes of dried grass.
A toast/light and right into some strength found on the nasal and finish. Introductory notes of creamy peanut butter which contrasts some very toasted bread qualities. An inch into the experience and still consistent with the addition of some raw sugar on the tongue.
Getting into the 2/3 and a perfect burn begins to unfold as dark gray dimes grow on ultra straight burn line and a thick ash fringe. The strength is medium and seems mild compared to contrasting and rather powerful forward notes of dark coffee, toasted bread and some molasses/dark honey found in the finish.
Into the concluding 3/3 and certainly medium plus in strength with an additional black pepper. The forward experience is intense in its toasted qualities but the finish however, is more delicate with creamy and eucalyptus hints that seem to last forever. Into the nub end and yet another increase to full strength as an absolute peppery and heavily toasted experience meets us in the finale.
