REVIEW

Visually, this cigar is perfectly constructed and has dark leather colored wrapper with non prominent veins and a very oily sheen. The pre light aromas are of a pungent barnyard of manure and fermented hay. A straight cut leads to an open draw and some rather rich “cold draw” notes of cocoa and raisins. This cigar is also brought to you by My Monthly Cigars and is available in the December 2022 (no 43) box.

A toast/light and straight into some rather poignant notes of dark cocoa and some already prevalent bakers spice (cloves). Mild+ out of the starting gate, we see a nasal tickle during the retro as we move into an already rich and long lasting finish. Getting into the 1/3 and medium in strength as a light pepper joins on the pallet. The cocoa drops off as the baker's spice and now a dark coffee note takes center stage. The finish only magnifies these qualities as an additional dark honey joins the palate.

Into the 2/3 we see a great burn and a bright ash grows on a thick and wavering ash fringe. Strong notes of bakers spices merge with dark chocolate cake and coffee to culminate into a super rich and flavorful experience. The finish is unbelievably rich and oily with that forest honey on the lips!

Getting into the 3/3 and we move into a medium+ strength. The notes are quite consistent and the same can be said about the burn, which is slow moving with a smoke output that would make the local fire brigade nervous. The retro has subsided but the finish is an event horizon of some serious flavors that lasts forever. The pepper also starts to build on the pallet and borders molasses.

The conclusion is consistent in notes but truly ramps in strength as we reach a full smoke on the nub. Toasty in its qualities and amazingly flavorful on the mouth we conclude with this gem for the rich and full body lovers. Hats off to Graycliff Cigars and such a great offering from My Monthly Cigars.
