REVIEW

It’s hard not to be impressed by the protective “leaf” wrapper that covers this cigar (see pic). Upon its removal, an even more impressive Corojo wrapper is born from its protective layer. Noted is a well constructed cigar, covered in an oily wrapper leaf and topped with a well placed cap. The pre ignition aroma is a musty hay and a straight cut leads to an open draw.

A toast/light and immediately noticed is the smoke production, which is plentiful. Notes of toasted graham along a floral note (similar to thrills gum) are on stage. The bulk of the flavor is on an oily pallet and is quite long lasting, considering we are 10 puffs in.

Into the 1/3 and a mild strength develops. A combination of that toasted graham merges with creamy nougat and sweet coffee to make for an interesting flavor combination. The retro is ultra smooth and offers a long lasting finish where the floral note begins to fade away and trade places with a lighter mineral quality. Almost ½ in and still in the mild plus range. The burn is fantastic and offers light grey ash nickels on a wavering and thick ash fringe. Consistent in favors, the mildest of pepper does make its way on the pallet. Intensity rich and creamy and still found mostly on the finish.

Getting into the final couple of inches and tremendously flavorful indeed. Very rich and intense notes of creamy coffee, nougat and graham are still center. The finish does have an additional cocoa and the reintroduction of that floral value. Now medium in strength, the concluding nub does see a general pepper increase but nothing too pungent.

From start to finish, a rather intense and consistent experience, reminiscent of a coffee, wafer and cocoa confectionary desert bar. This Honduran puro is impressively constructed, blended and is a great value, which is compounded by a long burn time. The external wrapper package is also an added touch that is not only visually beautiful but adds a protective quality to your cigar.
