Noted immediately is this cigars great construction and wrapper leaf that is almost void of any veining and is Claro and reminiscent of a paper bag in color, with a slight green hue. A faint and musty hay greets the olfactory as a straight cut reveals an unobstructed draw.
A toast/light right into some toasty notes of wafer (vanilla) that merge with salted cashew and a lightly toasted, almost woody espresso quality on an already oily finish. Around the inch marker and the experience is quite strong if you consider the wrapper covering and brings us to mild+. Consistent, we do see a citrus/floral note but only deep in the finish which fades almost immediately to a general creamy and bread value.
Into the 2/3 and perhaps true to the name, we note creamy colliding with a general toasted value on a consistent pallet. The burn receives a fantastic grade as a light and dark chenille ash grows on a thick and contrasting, ash fringe. Well passed the halfway marker and the experience starts to move in strength to a medium and is accompanied by some pepper on the pallet that is most likely the byproduct of some welcomed bakers spices. The finish conflicts with the wrapper as rich, oily and sweet notes develop and offers a welcomed intensity to the profile.
Into the concluding end of this cigar, we see consistency as the creamy value almost vanishes and gives way to a toasted and flavor centered conclusion. Dark honey now on stage, this cigar is a truly and ascending graph curve of both flavor potency in strength and is very non typical of traditional Connecticut covered sticks. That being said and combined with a great burn, construction and blending, we end a very pleasant cigar for the mild/medium smoker.
