REVIEW
Although not currently available in the My Monthly Cigars “monthly selection”, this cigar was sent by the Owner of My Monthly Cigars, Nick Gervais, to try and review. Visually, this cigar is stunning and boasts a oscuro/candela “barber pole” style covering. The cap end has a prominent tail, tucked under the bands and mimics a fuse. Pre light aromas of hay are made available as a straight cut leads us to an open draw.
A toast/light and into some introductory notes of some candied walnuts less any bitter qualities often associated with that particular nut. Also and in addition, we see a grasslike/herbal quality that has minor mint notes. Mild+, we move into the midpoint of the 1/3. The retro does have a nasal sting as an additional cocoa joins the consistent pallet. The finish is rich and long lasting, offering and oil feel with a dark honey on the tongue.

An inch in and into the 2/3, we see a fantastic burn, indicative of this cigar’s construction. A noted spiral of light and medium gray ash grows on a razor straight and thin ash fringe. Now moving into medium, the more delicate notes of herbal qualities have almost disappeared, offering more pronounced notes of cocoa, orange skin and a long lasting toasted hazelnut. The finish remains the focal point and offers more of that raw sweet value.

Into the beginnings of the 3/3 and that gorgeous “spiral” ash grows and remains intact. The concluding inch shows a medium strength alongside some heavy toasted notes of bread and that sweet finish that holds a spicy pepper quality as well. A cigar that promotes a perfect and long lasting burn considering its meek size. Complex and certainly recommended if the notes peak your interest.
